TITLE: GLS Auditor
REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager
SUMMARY: Provide audit services for Genesis Logistics Solutions. Create and maintain positive relationships with customers. Maintain a positive, professional attitude and work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Review and analyze incoming carrier freight bills and bills of lading for information and discrepancies compared to Transportation Management System
- Digitize documentation into PDF format, assign files to appropriate shipments in system
- Settle invoices for payment or flag for further review as needed
- Follow standard operating procedures for daily and monthly processing
- Act as a liaison between freight carriers and client’s Accounts Payable and Logistics departments to address payment issues or other concerns
- Generate and batch process customer invoices to client timely and accurately
- Proactively seek to identify any issues, delays in processing or paperwork submission requests that need follow up
- Reconcile freight payment entries at month-end to general ledger
- Assist with LMTS Accounting functions (i.e. miscellaneous payables in Quickbooks, AR & AP postings)
- Work closely with the Accounting Manager and Vice President of Accounting & IT on any assigned projects
- Cross train in other accounting positions to cover overflow and vacations
- Detail and process oriented with strong time management, organization and problem-solving skills
- Able to communicate positively through oral and written means
- Able to successfully function within a multi-task environment and work independently
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Dependable
- 2-3 years of Audit, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable related experience
- Accounting experience preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
