Summary
Reporting to the Card Services Manager, and as part of the Card Services team, this full-time, non-exempt hourly role provides service to members and Credit Union staff for all processes related to payment cards (Debit, Credit, ATM).
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Support branch staff and members in troubleshooting and resolving payment card issues including but not limited to failed transactions, account history reviews, program details, processing information, and other account issues.
Work with payment card vendors on various tasks including but not limited to problem resolution, ongoing program maintenance, and projects.
Open, close, and perform maintenance on payment cards and related accounts.
Process debit and ATM card disputes in an efficient manner to ensure members receive timely provisional credit and chargebacks are sent to the merchant.
Review debit and ATM card disputes to recognize fraud trends with both merchants and member accounts and to identify members that need to be contacted for further details.
Work new online checking accounts daily including but not limited to verifying proper system set up and ordering debit cards.
Provide information to members and branches on the Platinum Overdraft program and process.
Perform tasks, which could be daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or as needed, including but not limited to reconciliation of payment card activity, reporting to management, processing compromised payment cards, and other tasks.
Monitor and replenish debit card instant issue stock in the branches.
Under supervision, engages in problem resolution by clarifying the member’s and/or employee’s complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; researching and proposing a solution when management assistance is required to solve a problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution; and keeping management informed of problems.
Serve as a backup to other positions within the Finance team.
Assist with projects by providing support to management as needed.
Qualifications and Certifications
- A high school education or GED required.
- 1 to 3 years of similar or related experience required.
- Interpersonal skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
- Must have proven proficiency operating a 10-key calculator by touch. Must possess proven mastery of basic to intermediary level Excel software skills. Must have good communication skills and an ability to perform work in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner.
