What You Will Do
The Director of Education Development and Training is responsible for the strategy, planning and implementation of the K/SHU Training and Education programs including Artist Inductions and Trainings, Key Brand programs and Specialty Events to ensure that the artists, full-time educators, field sales and education teams, are providing best in class service and support to the customer with sell-out at the forefront.
The Director of Education Development and Training creates O O content, then directly interprets and trains the brand ethos, messaging, new launches and educational programs. This role works with the field Educational Directors to roll out all content with the purpose for them to ensure their field teams can execute confidence in sell-through strategies and with inspiration in salons and to their customers.

- Keeper of the standard of all technical written technical information
- Skilled in writing technical, accurate, in-depth, educational information
- Supporting Marketing with the Pro voice both at a US & DMI Level
- Responsible for first technical Education to the entire education network & Pro- Influencers, on New Product Launches and line extensions, as well as ICOMMS / Marketing
- US technical link to DMI on new product development & testing
- Create technical guides, and any other US specific technical pieces to support sales / marketing
- On-site technical information at all shoots and events
- Co-lead US Local Content creation for ACCESS/Sephora
- Develop educational materials and ensure consistent and appropriate corporate image is maintained in all such materials/projects
- Gain feedback from field efficacy of materials in driving sell-through, relevance
- Keep abreast of Industry changes in Competitor Product / Education Evolutions
- Create blended online-offline learning paths to recruit, coach, train and develop our education network in adherence with Brand standards of excellence
- Lead key US training initiatives from inception through execution, both digital & in person
- Use Social media cues to develop “Pro-sumer” content
- Identify Social and consumer trends in market to stay at forefront of our education voice
- Work with Pro influencers to create content relevant for digital channels
- Develop training modules relevant to all channels, including social media and retail
What We Are Looking For:
- High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
- Current cosmetology license required
- At least 7-10 years of education and/or professional beauty industry experience
- Excellent creative writing and proofreading skills
- Strong Social Media mindset/grasp
- Digital know-how, with curiosity for what’s next
- Experience in developing curriculum and educational formats
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills-creativity, flexibility/adaptability to change, consulting, problem solving
- Passion and ability to work with and impact other Creatives/Pro Hairdressers
- Commitment to personal development and continuous learning
- Ability to manage a high volume of activity, with adaptability to changing demands
- Knowledge of business and educational aspects of organization
- Ability to plan, develop, and adhere to budgets, for all field training activity and T&E
- Strong facilitation skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong computer skills, including MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint
- Ability to travel (minimum 50% TBD)
- Ability to be flexible, proactive and impact change
