GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB The Suresort Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of Suresort machinery to ensure the accurate and timely processing of products. This is a fast-paced role that requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and work. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Machine Operation Operate and monitor sorting machine(s) to ensure proper function. Adjust machine settings to match specifications for sorting accuracy. Feed materials into the machine and oversee the sorting process. Quality Control Inspect sorted materials to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met. Identify and remove defective or misclassified items. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of sorting equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime. Report significant malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of sorted quantities and machine performance. Prepare and submit daily reports to management as required. SUPERVISION General Supervision : routine duties are performed with minimal supervision; works closely with team members to achieve production goals Communicate effectively with supervisor regarding workflow or issues. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Reading comprehension (English) and basic math skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Basic understanding of machine operation, maintenance, and dimensions, i.e., width, height, etc. Problem-solving skills and basic computer skills. Good communication and teamwork skills. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and / or Human Resources Perform other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVEL Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks, including pulling, pushing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and squatting; frequent use of 3-tier step ladder. Capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 50lbs Comfortable working in environments with noise, dust, or varying temperatures, and confined spaces, when necessary.
