L-Z Truck Equipment Company, a leading truck upfitting company in Roseville, MN, is seeking a motivated Truck Mechanic / Equipment Installer to join our team. If you have experience in metal fabrication, 12-volt electrical systems, and truck equipment installation, we want to hear from you!

Job Description:

As a Truck Mechanic / Equipment Installer, you will be responsible for performing both mechanical and electrical upgrades and modifications on trucks and vans for commercial and professional markets. This role is key in ensuring our clients’ vehicles are upfitted for success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mechanical Fabrication:

  • Fabricate and install metal components (e.g., brackets, shells).

  • Grinding, drilling, and welding

  • Use equipment such as brake presses, shear, drill presses, and hand tools.

• Electrical Systems (12-Volt):

  • Extend and route 12-volt wiring.

  • Upgrade electrical systems to accommodate new equipment.

  • Install electrical components like alternators, fuse boxes, signal lights.

• Additional Expertise:

  • Familiarity with hydraulics is a plus, but not required.

  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in truck equipment fabrication, mechanical installation, or electrical work.

• Proficiency in using metal fabrication equipment (e.g., brake press, shear).

• Welding experience required.

• Experience in 12V wiring is essential.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive pay: $29 - $37 per hour, based on experience.
