What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Assistant position at La Casa, Inc.?
· Food preparation, menu planning, grocery shopping.
· Gives assistance to shelter clients in obtaining healthy, nutritious food
· Assists in ensuring compliance with all Department of Health and State of New Mexico rules and regulations pertaining to food handling, storage and preparation.
· Ensures freshness and quality of food served.
· Include donated, commodity and purchased food into meal preparation
· Ensures nutritional balance of meals
· Supervision of clients in kitchen clean-up
· Ensures overall cleanliness of kitchen and organization of kitchen
· Attends weekly shelter staffing
· Attends trainings as directed by supervisor.
· Assists Kitchen Manager in completing all required documentation and paperwork in a timely manner
· Submits required documentation in a timely manner in absence of the kitchen supervisor.
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
