Job Description :
As the Ob / Gyn Lead Physician, you will provide clinical oversight for full scope outpatient obstetrical and gynecological care to La Clinica Great Beginnings patients in Solano County.
Your responsibilities will include providing prenatal, post-partum, and gynecological medical care, consultation with nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, and physician assistants on complicated cases, initiating referrals to specialists, chart review, co-signing, and case conferences. You will lead the OB high-risk meeting and maintain the High-Risk Surveillance Protocols for the clinic.
You will participate in practice improvements such as in-clinic flow, patient scheduling, and service delivery, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, including providers, health educators, medical assistants, registered nurses, and case managers. This role requires flexibility in meeting patients’ needs and a high degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and patients.
The position requires board certification in OB / GYN, or if not certified, board eligibility with a requirement to become certified within 4 years of employment.
Major Areas of Responsibility include but are not limited to :
- Deliver evidenced-based care that supports improved health outcomes and exceptional patient experience.
- Perform prenatal, intra-partum, post-partum, and gynecological medical care and initiate referrals as needed.
- Share day and after-hours call with the primary care group and other OB-GYNs.
- Oversee inpatient OB management and care provided by Certified Nurse Midwives and Family Practice physicians.
- Prescribe medications and order medical diagnostic tests.
- Provide well and chronic disease care with cultural humility.
- Develop rapport with patients and families to foster the physician / patient relationship.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members on complicated cases.
- Suggest improvements for clinic flow and service delivery.
- Provide direction to medical assistants regarding patient care as needed.
