The Pharmacist in Charge is responsible for a licensed pharmacy’s compliance with the laws and administrative rules of the Oregon Board of Pharmacy and of the federal government pertaining to the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of drugs and devices. Responsible for accurate documentation and reporting of inventory, including controlled substances. The Pharmacist in Charge is also required to remain up to date on all state and Federal rules, laws, and regulations regarding the operation of and standard practices of pharmacies.
Our Pharmacist in Charge role is not a typical Pharmacy Manager role. This opening is for our retail dispensing pharmacy, located within our La Clinica Wellness Health Center. We are open Monday – Friday, 8:30-6 and the team works set schedules. Our Pharmacist in Charge will be given specific hours off the floor each week to attend to managerial tasks. Essential Job Duties: The Pharmacist in charge actively engages in pharmacy activities as a staff pharmacist, ensures compliance through regular presence in the pharmacy, conducts the annual self-inspection, oversees quarterly controlled substance inventory counts and Schedule 2 inventory reconciliations, serves as the liaison between La Clinica and the Oregon Board of Pharmacy, and performs other job duties, as assigned.

Must be able to interact with a variety of individuals at various levels under stressful circumstances while exercising sound judgement, tact, and diplomacy; work productively both independently and in a team setting; communicate with clarity, both verbally and in writing to groups and individuals.

Education And/or Experience
Required:
- Minimum: Active Oregon Pharmacist License, PharmD preferred
- Complete at least one year of pharmacy practice orcomplete a board approved Pharmacist in Charge training course either before or within 30 days of employment.
- Complete a board-approved Pharmacist in Charge training course at least every 5 years. (OAR 855-115-0205)
- Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacy operations, pricing, inventory, and billing systems.
- Excellent process improvement skills and be able to understand health center functions, operations, and organizational culture.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication skills, critical thinking skills, meticulous documentation skills, the ability to handle stressful situations, and the capacity to function independently.
- Ability to earn trust and develop strong relationships with others, internally and externally.
- 2-5 years pharmacy experience preferred, previous pharmacist in charge experience is a plus.
- Prior experience working with 340b programs and Federally Qualified Health Centers
- Experience with managed care, ACOs, PBMs and risk bearing entities
- Experience in the use of information technology with the ability to organize, analyze and synthesize complex data from various sources.
- Experience and/or good working knowledge of Six Sigma, LEAN, etc. a plus.
- Skilled at using electronic health reco rds, as applicable , to area of work (EPIC).
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required for this role!
