What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Associate position at LA Clippers?
We are looking for an Accounting Associate to support our Accounting team. Accounting Associate's primary tasks will include maintenance of customer files, processing transactions, preparing invoices for billing, making General Ledger entries, participating in month-end and annual close, and supporting tax reporting needs.
To be considered, you should have knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP), have high proficiency in Excel, some experience working with Microsoft Dynamics GP or other accounting software and be able to accurately key in information. You should also possess excellent teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
This is a part-time role based in our Inglewood, CA office, and is not eligible for benefits. Candidates must be based in the greater Los Angeles area, be available for at least 20 hours per week, and be enrolled in an Accounting program or pursuing a degree in Accounting.
What You Will Do
- Support the preparation of various tax reporting requirements.
- Maintain customer files, including all accounting and legal documents.
- Research and analyze problem invoices and follow up on inquiries.
- Contribute to monthly close and annual audits.
- Makes entries to general ledger accounting system.
- Perform all work in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Assist in the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Perform various administrative tasks such as scanning and mailing as needed.
- Cross-train with other members of the Accounting team to provide backup coverage and for career development purposes.
- Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
