JOB SUMMARY:
The prep bartender’s role is critical. They make all the house ingredients, batch cocktails, build draft kegs, and oversee the quality of these items. They are the foundation of preparation which in turn is the foundation of our bar mise and our ability to produce a huge amount of quality focused cocktails in a short period of time. Prep Leads must exhibit reliability, attention to detail, communication skills, culinary skills, and organizational ability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Arrive at work on time in proper uniform
- Attend pre shift meetings
- Assist servers and bar-staff with any needs available
- Accommodate guest requests in an efficient, professional manner
- Perform side work properly and efficiently.
- Refresh bar stock, including liquor, beer, wine, ice, silverware rolls, dry goods, etc.
- Prep garnishes as needed
- Wash and polish dishes
- Change kegs as needed
- Build keg cocktails by following house recipes and learned best practices.
- Maintain the highest standard of product quality and freshness
- Be knowledgeable about all aspects of bar prep, including all learned training info and all material contained in the Bar Prep Manual.
- Physically counting and recording the stock of the bar and bar storage for monthly inventory.
- Maintaining relationships with our vendors. Replacing the stock that has been used over the week. Making sure specialty ingredients needed are ordered.
- Making sure we have enough house made and purchased cocktail and beverage ingredients.
- Ensuring comps, breakage, and spills are properly recorded.
- Communicate with the Bar Manager, Beverage Director, and FOH MGMT any problems with the bar and current beverage program.
- Be on the lookout for better operational procedures.
- Understand that guest service and hospitality is above all.
- All Bartender duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Bartender Job Description and in the Beverage Manuals. Set the standard for all bar staff to follow.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and procedures to ensure the beverage
- Keep the bar area clean
- Anticipate the needs of the bar staff
- Be available at all times to fulfill the needs of guests, servers, and management.
- Perform any service duties as assigned necessary for guest service standards of specialty concept.
- Communicate with servers, bartenders, and management.
- Help other team members in their duties when time allows for a team Success (they will help when you need help!)
- Must adhere to La Corsha Hospitality Group’s policies as well as IRS laws in regards to reporting cash tips and gratuities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of high school diploma / equivalency
- Must have at least 2 years similar work expirience
- Must possess English Language Skills sufficient to fully comprehend job assignments, including the ability to read, write and communicate in fluent English
- Basic Math Skills
- Must have Food Handlers and TABC Certifications
- Full La Corsha basic, bar, prep, and site specific training.
- Completed BarSmarts sections 1-3 with a passing grade
- Ability to remember recipes, menu items, promotions, and specials
- Previous serving / bartending experience required
- Must have advanced knowledge of culinary preparation
- Excellent oral communication skills required
- Positive interpersonal skills required
- Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, beer and other beverages
- Must have experience in resolving guest complaints and issues to ensure 100% guest satisfaction
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Working extended hours may be required as needed
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use repetitive wrist and finger movement, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Work standing on feet for extended periods of time, approximately 8 hours per day
- Occasionally lifting, pulling or pushing up to 50 lbs
