JOB SUMMARY:
The goal of our Guest Service Attendant is to create a clean and orderly environment for our guests that will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation. They also ensure guest satisfaction by assisting to maintain cleanliness standards throughout the hotel, as well as assisting guests to their rooms and delivery of miscellaneous items.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining public areas throughout the hotel including halls, public restrooms, front desk, and pool area
- Assist guests with their luggage from the front desk to their room
- Maintain a friendly, approachable, and helpful demeanor with all guests and staff
- Deliver any on-call items to guests, as requested
- Assist with any guest inquiries regarding the hotel and surrounding areas
- Maintain neat and clean cart, equipment, storage rooms, and supplies.
- To maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- To respect all hotel equipment and property and use with care to avoid unnecessary damage.
- Label and submit all lost and found items to the housekeeping supervisor immediately.
- Perform housekeeping-related tasks, including laundry, housekeeping and meeting room set up in order to maintain necessary functions.
- Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing
- Wash windows as scheduled
- Operate mechanized cleaning equipment
- Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
- Monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Organize work schedule from the room status list, arrivals and departures
- Distribute linen, towels and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand
- Realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout
- Respond to guest queries and requests
- Respond to calls for housekeeping problems such as spills, broken glasses
- Deliver any requested housekeeping items to guest rooms
- Organize and restock cart at the end of the shift
- Follow all company safety and security procedures
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards
- Observe and report damage of hotel property
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge housekeeping standards, common cleaning products and their use.
- knowledge of cleaning techniques and methods
- knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials
- Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment
- Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training and workbooks
- Visual acuity to inspect and monitor cleaning standards.
- Ability to read and follow instructions.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner with both guests and staff
- Willingness to assist others
- Must communicate effectively with all levels of management
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Maintain regular attendance
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers and patrons
- Must be flexible to provide assistance to management team in a 24/7 operating environment
- Must have reliable transportation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Working extended hours may be required as needed
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use repetitive wrist and arm movement, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Regularly pushing and pulling
- Regularly lifting up to 40 lbs.
