Founded in 1868, the La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit membership association serving more than 575 businesses, nonprofits, and individual members through educational programming, networking opportunities, advertising, advocacy, and business growth. The La Crosse Area Chamber is led by an active Board of Directors and operates with a mission to elevate and strengthen the business community in order to enhance quality of life in Greater La Crosse.
The Community Concierge/Talent Coordinator serves as a contact for local employers regarding the recruitment, relocation, and retention needs of potential employees. The ideal candidate is personable, professional, and has a robust knowledge of Greater La Crosse and its assets. Duties include providing concierge services and community tours to individuals referred by employers. The CC/TC will work closely with Human Resource professionals and will build a robust network of community resources to help connect newcomers. CC/TC will report to the Workforce Strategies Director.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- CORE WORK: Through our First Friend Newcomer Connection Program, the Community Concierge/Talent Coordinator will serve as a main contact for individuals considering relocation to Greater La Crosse. This one-stop concierge service includes one-on-one meetings with prospective employees and their families, community tours, phone calls, emails, resource sharing, and ongoing follow-up communication as needed. Answer all questions that clients have. Connect new hire and accompanying family to desired local businesses, organizations, and activities that will help them integrate into our community.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with businesses in the region, specifically Human Resource departments and managers who hire, to support their employee recruitment, relocation, and retention needs.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with community partners who help welcome, connect, and acclimate newcomers.
- With sensitivity, make deliberate efforts to welcome and integrate those from diverse populations by strengthening relationships with local communities of faith, non-profits, cultural groups, and other organizations who support those from diverse backgrounds.
- Maintain a robust list of community resources and assets and share those with clients.
- Aid accompanying partners as they search for local career opportunities.
- Manage the preparation and distribution of welcome baskets.
- Aid the organization and implementation of social events that connect and support newcomers.
- Track data and activities for periodic reports to the Chamber Board and program sponsors.
- Over time, other duties may include assisting with various workforce-related initiatives, such as our Talent Attraction Campaign, relocation website, and related committees.
- Follow any other job–related instructions and perform any other job–related duties requested by supervisor.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google platforms
- Driver’s license, safe/reliable vehicle, and clean driving record
