Tennis Instructor
Job Overview:
Seasonal positions available at the prestigious La Crosse Country Club as a Racquets Instructor. La Crosse Country Club hosts a five court Plexipave Tennis & Pickleball facility, an enthusiastic membership, and an opportunity to help build top notch programming with a new Director and team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate weekly with the Director of Racquet Sports and Racquets Staff to plan, promote, and execute all programming.
- Assist in organizing game plans for clinics, private lessons, and Member games to encourage participation in the Club’s tennis and pickleball activities.
- Work with Director of Racquet Sports and Staff to regularly engage and communicate with members to maximize participation in all areas of the program.
- Assist with Shop/retail operations including ordering, receiving, sales, inventory and stringing services.
- Be able to work flexible hours and days to ensure all demographics of the program are serviced.
- Learn all Shop and maintenance procedures and assist when off court in professionally operating all aspects of the operation and upholding facility standards.
- Assist with the maintenance of the Club’s courts and surface playability as requested.
- Jointly responsible for retention of existing participants and attracting new participants.
- Participate in the development of an Racquets annual events calendar.
- Promote Socials and other events.
- Adhere to all La Crosse Country Club policies and procedures.
- Assist to maximize the Club’s facilities. Help develop “under-utilized” times and areas around the Racquets complex.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge and experience in one or more racquet sports (e.g., tennis and pickleball)
- Excellent communication skills to effectively teach and interact with participants of all ages and skill levels as well as groups.
- Ability to demonstrate proper techniques and provide constructive feedback
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques when working with children or groups
- Ability to climb stairs if necessary for facilities maintenance tasks
