Billing Clerk

Purpose: Our mission is to provide high quality Behavioral Health billing and accounts receivable with knowledge and integrity, allowing our providers to focus on our consumer’s quality care. Responsible for ensuring timely reimbursement from MCOs by accurately submitting claims and minimizing the number of claim denials. Our goals is to obtain the highest allowable reimbursements, contribute to the team to complete tasks in a timely manner, meet department needs, provide high quality job performance with knowledge and integrity.

Qualifications:

· High School diploma

· Candidates with a concentration in accounting or related field.

· One (1) year experience in the Mental Health Billing field preferred

· High organizational skills

· Time management skills

· Excellent oral and writing skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Manages 3rd party billings for client’s private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, for La Familia Del Paso services

· Transmit claims to insurance companies and Medicare

· Call insurance companies with appeals, on claims that have been processed incorrectly, resubmit appeals electronically, and send written appeals to insurance companies

· Ensure full implementation of all EHR reimbursement and control features

· Provides solutions to potential issues with insurance, billing, or coding

· Receives, sorts, and posts incoming payments

· Manages status of accounts and balances

· Assures all consumers are eligible and authorized through their insurance

· Creates a thorough report on billing activity

· Provides solutions to potential issues with insurance, billing, or coding

· Prepare service report as requested

· Other Duties as Assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
