POSITION OVERVIEW:
We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a well-qualified Staff Therapist position in our Recovery and Wellness Department. The Staff Therapist will provide therapeutic services to the residents of El Chante, clients in our adult outpatient program, and youth in our Youth for Change Program. This includes individual and group counseling, case management, designing patient education sessions, medication management, care coordination, and all other aspects of program operations at Recovery and Wellness. The staff therapist will also act as the LPHA in signing off on medical necessities, establishing the diagnosis in collaboration with the clinical supervisor, wherever appropriate, and as defined by the scope of their credentials. This position requires the candidate to be available Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some weekend availability, as and when a need arises. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provides individual, group, and family counseling and psychoeducation to clients and their families;
- Coordinates with SUD Counselors, program leads, residential staff, and all other members and community partner agencies in carrying out treatment plans;
- Meet with the SUD Counselor and/or client to complete and finalize medical necessity and establish a diagnosis.
- Refer clients to appropriate community agencies as part of the transition plan; Provide outreach, engagement, linkage, and follow-up services to clients and their families.
- Provides quality, timely clinical documentation in compliance with DMC-ODS regulations and maintains client charts in the various electronic health record systems;
- Regular participation in ongoing weekly, monthly, and quarterly CQRT process;
- Supports Program Supervisor, and other managerial staff in completing monthly reports by providing data required on various KPIs
- Support Program Supervisors at each of the programs, as appropriate;
- Attends leadership trainings/meetings as assigned by the Director;
- Offer training on evidence-based practices to house staff upon request by supervisory staff.
- Collaborate with the supervisory staff in weekly case management and peer review meetings, as well as monthly training sessions;
- Provide complete and thorough documentation, e.g. case notes, treatment plans, intake/assessments and report client progress to staff;
- Timely response to work-related calls and emails;
- Utilize motivational interviewing and other interventions to assist clients;
- Must maintain confidentiality concerning resident access and maintain electronic records and files;
- Maintain compliance with all quality improvement measures and County requirements;
- Work with the management team around assessments and individual case management plans for each resident.

- Attend trainings and participate in events relevant to key responsibilities
- Track and regularly report on key metrics for responsible function areas
- Leads and collaborates on special projects related to agency objectives as appropriate
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Completed a graduate psychology degree and be duly registered or licensed (or license-eligible) with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology (e.g., Licensed or Registered Psychologist, AMFT/LMFT, ASW/LCSW, APCC/LPCC);
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for SUD treatment including Trauma-Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relapse Prevention, Harm Reduction, and Psychoeducation;
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of the Latino Community and underserved populations generally;
- Knowledge of the effects of alcohol and drug abuse;
- Non-Profit and Community-Based Organization experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrates and models excellent “customer service” orientation, especially in the ability to interact with people at all levels within and outside the agency.
- Thinks independently and can make informed decisions when needed.
- Exercises extreme discretion with the ability to hold, balance, and transmit public and confidential information needed by various parties.
- Proficient in using MS Office products, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Acquires or maintains proficiency in using Google Drive products, including Docs, Sheets, and Forms.
- Valid CA Driver’s license
