Job Description
The Health Information Management Coordinator performs various support duties for the HIM Department including, but not limited to, assisting with the scanning medical record documents, analyzing medical records, releasing copies of medical records, and answering inquiries. The Coordinator assists the Director in planning, controlling and executing medical records functions to assure that a complete and accurate record is maintained for each patient.
Qualifications
REQUIRED: High school diploma or G.E.D.; attention to detail; excellent organizational skills; customer- and team-oriented communication skills. Must have solid PC (Windows OS) skills, including use of basic MS Office components (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to walk across campus as required; ability to sit, stoop, reach, bend and lift up to 20 pounds. PREFERRED: Treatment facility, medical and/or hospital experience. Familiarity
with Medical Records process. Ability to discuss HIPAA and understand 42 CFR (Part 2) regulations. Familiarity with 12-Step recovery programs.
