We are dedicated to offering the highest quality of care to our patients and are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) to join our dynamic team. We are an IAC accredited facility and follow all imaging protocols and adhere to the highest standards of patient care. We are looking for an experienced RVT to join our highly specialized vein clinic.
Position Overview:
As an RVT at our vein clinic, you will be responsible for performing non-invasive diagnostic ultrasound studies to assist in the diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with vein disorders- a high volume venous reflux, mapping, as well as DVT studies. We take STAT DVT studies from referring physicians. We also do although less frequently Lower extremity arterials, carotids, AAA. You will play a key role in providing high-quality imaging to guide interventions, as well as collaborating with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Note: this position is for our Vista location. However, the first 2-3 weeks of training may be at our La Jolla office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Diagnostic Imaging: Conduct vascular ultrasound studies, including duplex ultrasound, to assess vein health, detect venous insufficiency, and map veins for procedures such as sclerotherapy, endovenous laser treatment (EVLT), venaseal, etc. At our practice, we perform all procedure methods for superficial venous insufficiency.
- Patient Interaction: Educate patients on the procedures, answer questions, and ensure they are comfortable throughout the imaging process. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Documentation & Reporting: Document all imaging findings accurately in patient records, providing detailed reports and summaries to the physicians. Ensure that reports are submitted in a timely manner.
- Assistance in Procedures: Assist the physician during vein treatments and procedures by providing real-time imaging guidance to ensure accuracy and success of the treatment.
- Quality Control: Ensure all equipment is calibrated and functioning properly, performing routine checks and maintenance as needed. Adhere to clinic protocols for imaging quality.
- Patient Safety & Comfort: Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients. Follow infection control protocols and ensure the safety and comfort of patients throughout their visit.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, clinical staff, and administration to ensure coordinated care and a seamless patient experience.
Qualifications:
- Licensure/Certification: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent certification body.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in vascular ultrasound and/or vein clinic settings preferred.
- Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy, duplex ultrasound technology, and sonographic techniques.
- Experience assisting in vein treatments (e.g., sclerotherapy, EVLT) is a plus.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to perform ultrasound studies with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficient in using ultrasound equipment and technology.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of care.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift equipment as needed.
