WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Digital Media Specialist to support the ongoing communications efforts of the Office of Public Relations & Communications under the direct supervision of the Director, with an emphasis on videography, photography, motion graphic, script writing, web, and graphic design.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
- Three years of experience in a communications-related field required, school district experience preferred.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Excellent skills in writing and editing??
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills?
- Demonstrated skills in photography, videography, and design
- Strong computer and web-based skills, including familiarity with desktop publishing and video/photo editing software, and Adobe Creative Cloud software
- Ability to work as a member of a team and maintain a positive office environment??
- Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems?
- Detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to multitask, able to change assignments on short notice with little or no direction?
- Proficient in social media video management, website, and search engine optimization tools
- Familiar with data tracking tools to evaluate the reach of content and work produced.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Responsible for the maintenance of the La Joya ISD district and department websites.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining the district standard for design and quality control of website content.
- Design graphics for all related video packages, social media platforms, and communication platforms.
- Set up and capture studio-quality photographs and video.
- Collaboration with the Director to determine website content and develop print material.
- Together with members of the Office of Public Relations & Communications, develop content to promote district programs, products, services, events, and awareness campaigns.
- Designated as head district photographer, responsible for archiving content.
- Assist in coverage of events, including but not limited to banquets, celebrations, special meetings, and recognitions. This includes after-hours meetings or activities as assigned.?
- Collaborate with district staff across departments to reach department goals.
- Meet the physical demands of the job, such as loading and unloading of audio and video equipment.
- Assist the office in other duties assigned by the Director of Public Relations & Communications.

Occasional irregular hours; frequent and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer workstations; some district-wide travel; frequent standing, bending, kneeling and lifting.
