WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Videographer/Editor Specialist to support the ongoing communications efforts of the Office of Public Relations & Communications under the direct supervision of the Director, with an emphasis on videography, editing, design, production, and programming.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, broadcast journalism, or related field. 
  • Three years of experience in a communications-related field required, school district experience preferred. 

 

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Proficient in linear and non-linear video recording and editing
  • Ability to record news packages, video segments, promos, and assist in all television media productions
  • Experience in television and media production, related to digital video, audio, cameras, switchers, video servers, video streaming, live events, and post-production
  • Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audio and video equipment
  • Strong technical skills in television production, including lighting, camera work, audio, and editing
  • Experience with master control systems, live broadcasts, and streaming
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills? 
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and maintain a positive office environment?? 
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems? 
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to multitask, able to change assignments on short notice with little or no direction? 
  • Proficient in social media management
  • Familiar with data tracking tools to evaluate the reach of content and work produced
  • Extensive video editing skills (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop)
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data from a wide variety of sources. Understanding digital workflows and transcoding systems
  • Knowledge of the broadcast environment and master control systems

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Assist in the production of news packages and instructional productions by producing, shooting, and editing video and photography material.
  2. Organize, schedule, and execute location, shot list, and footage needed for all assignments.
  3. Design graphics for all related video packages.
  4. Identify and develop ideas for coverage, features, and programming.
  5. Set up and capture studio-quality photographs and video.
  6. Prepare promotional information materials as requested.
  7. Assist in the production of news packages, instructional productions, and district announcements.
  8. Fulfill equipment maintenance assignments as required.
  9. Fulfill master control, programming, and equipment calibration assignments as required.
  10. Responsible for ensuring that both broadcast equipment and software systems are available, maintained, and upgraded in a manner.
  11. Support organizational communications and announcements.  
  12. Fulfill master control and programming assignments as required.
  13. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  14. Fulfill the production setup for live events and video streaming.
  15. Together with members of the Office of Public Relations & Communications, develop content to promote district programs, products, services, events, and awareness campaigns. 
  16. Assist in coverage of events, including but not limited to banquets, celebrations, special meetings, and recognitions. This includes after-hours meetings or activities as assigned.? 
  17. Collaborate with district staff across departments to reach department goals. 
  18. Meet the physical demands of the job, such as loading and unloading of audio and video equipment.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Public Relations & Communications.

MENTAL DEMANDS:
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate varied projects/programs; meet deadlines; ability to use and learn from technical self-paced pre-certification courses.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

Occasional irregular hours; frequent and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer workstations; some district-wide travel; frequent standing, bending, kneeling and lifting.

 

POSITION WORKING DAYS: 226 Days
