Full-Time Position: Chemistry Teacher

La Lumiere School is excited to welcome applications for the position of Chemistry Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching high school Chemistry, likely including Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and Physical Sciences courses, as well as working with students outside of the classroom. Candidates should also demonstrate strong proficiency in planning and executing laboratory-based instruction, particularly for Chemistry and AP Chemistry courses, to support student engagement with core scientific practices. In the Science Department, we focus on meeting students where they are, differentiating instruction effectively, and supporting students’ academic and personal growth.

Faculty compensation packages are competitive. If a faculty member resides on campus, the school provides year-round housing and meals when school is in session for the faculty member and his/her family as a part of the benefits package. Other benefits include an optional health plan, a contribution to a 403(b) retirement account, and professional development opportunities.

In the Science Department, we focus on meeting students where they are, differentiating instruction effectively, and supporting students’ academic and personal growth.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach 5 sections of classes each semester
- Sponsor/supervise a co-curricular activity during two seasons
- Serve as an advisor to a group of approximately eight students
- Bachelor’s degree in the relevant academic discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
- Three or more years of teaching experience at the secondary level preferred
- Experience working with students outside of the classroom through coaching, mentorship, or other activities preferred
