Job Description:
The Direct Care Staff will work at La Maison an (RTC) Residential Treatment Center. Our residents will be boys between the ages of 7–13. Our residents represent a population which requires behavioral and emotional support for meeting their most basic needs. Direct Care Staff has the responsibility to provide Care, Welfare, Safety and Security for all residents and staff. As partners you will be responsible for a small group of children while also being a part of a larger work family with a shared vision of contributing ideas and improving the lives of the children. You will be trained in promoting and directing pro-social and age appropriate behaviors such as positive feedback, praise and the development of a healthy peer culture. Direct Care Staff are expected to effectively use La Maison facility trained de-escalation techniques, non-verbal and verbal redirection while providing constant Active Supervision. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Safety and sanitation
- Provide Care, Welfare, Safety and Security of all residents.
- Be able and willing to work well with others in a respectful and pleasant manner.
- Actively Supervise residents at all times. There is no sleeping on any shifts, there are no exceptions.
- Requires constant interaction with residents.
- Effectively work together and communicate with residents and other staff members.
- Maintain required accurate documentation.
- Keep precise shift notes for each resident under your care or whom you have met.
- Assist in executing your assigned group programs and recreational activities.
- Continually maintain a clean and healthy environment.
- Help children organize their rooms and their daily laundry.
- Obtain information and interpret information in terms that the residents can understand.
- Keep your group of residents on time for daily routine and appointments.
- Maintain work in an environment free from hazards.
- Proactive and show enthusiasm about that day’s planned activities and follow through with the expectations.
- Follow La Maison Policies and Procedures which also incorporate State and Federal Regulations and La Maison Employee Handbook.
- Follow the proper chain of command.
- Due to the nature of this business, we are open 24 hours per day 365 days per year. This gives you an opportunity to work a flexible schedule that meets your needs. We will do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs. However, you may be asked to work various shifts including, but not limited to overnight, weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
Training Prerequisites: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Pass Drug test
- Fingerprinted
- Pass State and Federal background checks
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
Compensation Pay will start between $15 and $16 per hour depending on professional experience, licenses and current certifications. This can be successfully increased after completion of a 90-day probationary period with a passing evaluation. (b) If you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed above (or any other symptoms of COVID-19 as identified by the CDC), immediately notify your supervisor, and do not report to work. (c) If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, you may not report to work until all the following conditions have been satisfied: COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE POLICY PAGE 2 You have been without a fever for at least 72 hours (without using any fever-reducing medications); You have experienced an improvement in any respiratory symptoms that has lasted at least 72 hours; and At least 10 days have passed since you first began experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. If you believe your symptoms are not the result of COVID-19, you may provide a note from a healthcare professional confirming an alternative diagnosis and stating that it is safe for you to return to work.
