Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while preparing and selling a variety of deli products. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong sales skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced grocery store environment.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with their deli selections.
- Prepare and serve deli items, ensuring quality and freshness.
- Sell deli products while effectively upselling additional items to enhance customer experience.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing transactions accurately.
- Handle cash transactions responsibly and maintain accurate cash handling practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the deli area, adhering to food safety standards.
- Assist in supervising deli staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Utilize basic math skills for weighing products and calculating prices for customers.
- Engage with customers over the phone, providing information about products and services.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a grocery store or retail sales environment is preferred.
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills are essential.
- Ability to sell products effectively, with a focus on upselling techniques.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems is advantageous.
- Basic math skills for pricing and weighing products accurately.
- A positive attitude with a strong commitment to customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when necessary.
