VanUp is currently hiring for a Technician for our growing team. This position plays a key role within the department installing accessories on customer vehicles. The ideal candidate is committed to excellence, has high standards for their work, has strong auto parts accessory knowledge, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install aftermarket accessories for VanUp customers
• Installation of steps, suspension, bumpers, bicycle racks, solar panels, wheels/rims etc.
• Provide design, fabrication, construction, and service in-house.
• Dismounting factory installed equipment and upgrading with OEM products.
• Inspect all customer vehicles for damage before beginning work.
• Removal and installation of suspension components such as springs, shocks, and sway bars.
• Assist and enhance dealer training in product knowledge, problem-solving and accessory installation.
• Work under minimum supervision and accomplish tasks on time.
• Self-sufficient Cutting, Bending and Fabricating without supervision
• Welding and metal fabrication of new accessories on VanUp vehicles
• Produce, fabricate, and assemble product fixtures (individual tube and main fixture) as necessary.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay informed with rapidly changing Automotive/Van technology.
• Accountable for hand tools, torque wrenches and light power tools.
• Plan work procedure: follow work order, created by a VanUp supervisor, for all operations listed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• • Pre-employment screenings including background and drug test
  • Accessory Installation experience preferred
  • Understand and follow technical manuals
  • MIG & TIG welding skills are a plus
  • General knowledge of shop tools (i.e., grinders, saws, sanders, etc.)
  • Two to four years related experience or equivalent
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
