Job Summary
A La Mexico, Assistant Manager is responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring that have a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities include ringing up customers’ purchases, handling cash and credit card transactions, providing change and assisting with merchandising responsibilities, such as stocking, pricing, and keeping the store neat, clean, and organized. They also help customers locate items in the store, answer questions, and provide general assistance. Cashier/Sales Associate must be friendly, organized, and detail-oriented.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service
- Operate cash registers, scanners, and other equipment to process customer purchases
- Accurately count money, give change, and issue receipts for transactions
- Process credit/debit card payments
- Performs multi-function operation of fuel console, lottery and money transfer machines
- Performs housecleaning duties necessary to maintain store cleanliness and basic upkeep and/or cleaning of all equipment in the store
- Stock shelves with merchandise and ensure displays are neat and organized
- Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits
- Controls merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses
- Performs all duties with minimal supervision; may be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings and perform other duties as assigned
- Answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and payment options
- Assist in unloading delivery trucks and stocking shelves
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Assist in management when requested
Qualifications
- Previous retail experience preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Ability to perform the essential duties
- Ability to work irregular hours such as shifts, holidays and weekends
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
