POSITION SUMMARY
As a Controller, you will be a key member of our finance team, responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's accounting operations. Your primary objective will be to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of financial processes and reports. You will lead a team of accounting professionals and collaborate closely with other departments to support the organization's financial goals and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and a proven track record of successfully managing financial operations.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Prepare and review the hospital’s financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
2. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and healthcare industry regulations.
3. Analyze financial data to assess the hospital’s financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
4. Develop and manage the hospital’s annual budget, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
5. Monitor actual performance against budget, identify variances, and take corrective actions when necessary.
6. Coordinate annual financial reporting, including financial audit, grant audits, cost report, 990 tax return for State and Federal agencies. And ensure audit recommendations are implemented.
10. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including Medicare/Medicaid billing requirements, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
11. Assess and manage financial risks, including potential impacts of healthcare policy changes, reimbursement rate shifts, and economic factors.
12. Communicate financial performance to senior leadership, board members, and other key stakeholders.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Proven experience (typically 5 years) in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role in a Healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with financial modeling tools. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team and collaborate across departments. High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and an aptitude for problem-solving.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CPA designation is preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
Salary : $65,603 - $96,678
