Description
Job Summary: Responsible for the procuring and processing of laboratory specimens, and reporting results in all areas of the clinical laboratory. Also, documents everything in the laboratory records. Follows laboratory policies and procedures; participates in quality assurance and adheres to quality control practices in the Laboratory. Performs any other duties needed as assigned.
Qualifications
Regulatory Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology. Completed a Medical Technologist internship at a qualified medical facility.
- State Licensure is not required at this time. Experience as a Medical Technologist in the following specialties; blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and serology/immunology is preferred..
- Certification preferred.
Language Skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages are helpful.
Skills:
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Operates current Clinical Laboratory equipment correctly and safely. Examples: automated cell counter, automated chemistry equipment, microscope, etc.
