What are the responsibilities and job description for the Perioperative RN position at LA Plastic Surgery?
Duties:
- Provide direct patient care in the operating room
- Circulate to set up patients for surgery, assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures - Assist Anesthesia Provider during Intubation and to deliver patient care during surgery
- Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia levels during surgery for IV, IM, Local anesthesia
- Prepare and maintain sterile operating room environment
- Ensure proper functioning of surgical equipment and instruments
- Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the surgeon
- Assist with patient positioning and prepping for surgery
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
- Document patient information, Pre-operative, surgical procedures, and post-operative care - Pre-operative assessment, Intravenous access, preparartion of patients for surgery
- PACU Recovery, assessment, management, monitoring, and discharge of patients Post-operatively
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting
- Proficient in pain management techniques and medication administration
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures
- Ability to provide primary care to patients before, during, and after surgery
- Experience with catheter care, diagnostic evaluation, and acute care interventions
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices
- Knowledge and skill using aseptic technique
