We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks within a medical office or dental clinic environment. This role requires proficiency in handling patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage incoming calls with excellent phone etiquette, addressing inquiries and directing calls as necessary.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of time slots.
- Maintain patient records with accuracy, including updating care plans and insurance information.
- Process patient intake forms and verify insurance eligibility, including Medicare coverage.
- Assist in the management of electronic health records using Meditech or similar systems.
- Provide information about dental terminology and services offered at the clinic.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
- Handle billing inquiries and coordinate with insurance companies as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office or dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with Medicare processes and care plans is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to dental practices, is beneficial.
- Proficiency in using office software and electronic health record systems such as Meditech is a plus.
