POSITION SUMMARY: Provide direction in a safe and clean environment and a quality experience for children and parents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensuring the care, safety, and well-being of all children.
- Caring for children’s physical needs.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and nurturing environment.
- Interacting with children to promote learning and social development.
- Attending required monthly staff meetings.
- Being friendly and respectful to parents, children, and all other staff while working.
- Completing required training (CPR & First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse prevention)
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, training, and volunteers for at least one Y event a year.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor or other person of responsibility if your immediate supervisor is not available.
- Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Follow the departmental dress code. No alterations to the dress code are allowed.
- Complete incident and accident reports as necessary.
- Help with other YMCA functions and duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Know appropriate emergency and safety procedures and proper exits for everyone in the facility.
- Builds relationships with members and building participants.
- Exemplify the YMCA core values of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty.
- Showing up for all scheduled dates on time and in proper attire
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 16 years of age.
- On-line CPR/First Aid/AED/Oxygen class complete before employment, and 30 days after employment to complete skills portion of CPR/1st Aid.
- Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required.
- Complete West Bend training before hire and as required going forward.
- Complete annual online and in-person child sexual abuse prevention training.
