Position: Clerk, Special Education PEIMS/SERS
Location: Special Programs
Primary Purpose:
Maintain efficient, effective data collection and reporting for required state and federal reports. Maintain assistive technology inventory. Assist with the management of all special programs records on the special education database. Provide other clerical services to the special education director and others as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Computer, typing organizational skills necessary
• Other office equipment skills such as fax, copier, etc.
Experience:
Prefer special education program knowledge
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability and demonstrated aptitude in communication with parents and district personnel
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Ability and demonstrated aptitude in organization
- Knowledge of computers, including the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook); and use and navigation of the internet
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Performance Effectiveness: Student Records Management
- Maintains current knowledge of PEIMS requirements and the Student Attendance Accounting Manual.
- Provides data records and reports within timeline required.
- Assists staff with knowledge of the current Student Attendance Accounting Manual.
- Assists in the development of local system for PEIMS accounting processes: Input new student data and update for existing students, remove students who have moved, ensure all information is current and correct)
- Provides director and supervisors with appropriate reports for maintenance of timelines for evaluations, ARD meetings, etc.
- Resolves fatal PEIMS errors quarterly
- Maintains timelines and documentation for initial referrals to Special Education
- Inputs all transfer students into SuccessEd
- Manages the LPISD Special Programs Records Request email account
- Provides records to Social Security Administration
- Trains and supports new and current AR Assists with Medicaid information and reporting as required.
- Maintains organized digital files for Special Education and 504 records (including inactive records and destruction of records as appropriate and coordinated with the director).
Performance Effectiveness: Materials Management
- Provide system for tracking assistive technology materials requests and obtaining approval.
- Provide system for ordering, dissemination and tracking materials.
- Conduct annual inventory of materials by personnel/location.
- Maintain an accounting of materials that are out for repair.
- Assist new staff with necessary information and support (ex. Materials available, delivery of materials, ordering materials, check-out and return of materials, etc.).
- Assist with other clerical shared duties as assigned.

Other Information:
The district contributes $400/monthly to the cost of "employee-only" health insurance which is $175/monthly greater than the state required amount of $225/monthly.
Pay Grade: PG 2, 11 months, 210 days
Minimum $13.25
Midpoint $15.96
