Primary Purpose: 

 

The primary purpose of the position is to be responsible for scheduling preventative and regular maintenance with minimal interruption to production operations. In this capacity, the maintenance control specialist is the principal contact and liaison person between maintenance and other supporting departments in relation to determining the timing for execution of planned maintenance work. The maintenance control specialist works to ensure the production units balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenance practices.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • GED/High School Diploma (preferred)
  • Valid Texas Drivers License; must be insurable by the district's insurance carrier

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of SchoolDude/Brightly system
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare preventive maintenance plans that are aligned with the organization's maintenance goals.
  • Developing and managing detailed maintenance schedules and work orders.
  • Coordinating and scheduling all maintenance activities.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures. Reviews with appropriate management staff. Implements improvements.
  • Monitors progress on preventative maintenance work performed. Assures timely completion of jobs in accordance with plans and specifications. Processes, logs and inspects completion of all service calls.
  • Adjust schedules to account for unexpected emergency work and district needs.
  • Ensuring that all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance performed and maintenance costs as it relates to district projects.
  • Work with foreman and operations teams to plan and implement schedule modifications and upgrades to control systems.
  • Arrange for maintenance, alteration, and repair of heating, lighting, water services, air conditioning, ventilating and refrigeration systems, and the construction, remodeling, maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, parking lots, athletic facilities, and related equipment.
  • Procure necessary maintenance supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Work with vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of maintenance policies, procedures, and best practices.

Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures and data; coordinate district functions. Office environment with numerous interruptions. Maintain emotional control under stress.

 

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Frequent districtwide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; in and out of District travel.

 

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to constant interruption and is in direct contact with the public, students, and employees. Interactions with these contacts may result in hectic situations. This position may be high volume at times and work without direct and/or constant supervision.

The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.

  

Pay Grade: Manual Trades Pay Grade 4, 250 Days

 

Minimum:   $16.48

Midpoint:    $19.86
