Under the general supervision of the Outpatient Therapy Supervisor, this position is responsible for all outpatient billing, coding, and preparation of reports.
Essential Functions
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). Specialized education in the area of insurance claims billing and/or medical billing preferred.
Experience: Two years’ experience in office work, medical billing preferred.
Computer Skills: Proficient in the use of and mastery of a variety of computer software including data management / accounting / MS Office.

Under the general supervision of the Outpatient Therapy Supervisor, this position is responsible for all outpatient billing, coding, and preparation of reports.
Essential Functions
- Enters and logs all patients, social information, and all billing information.
- Call and collect insurance information, verify co-payment charges, and establish payment records.
- Electronically bill all insurance claims daily
- Bills patient monthly
- Pulls all remits from system for posting.
- Deposits Outpatient payments.
- Posts all Outpatient payments and adjustments, balancing accounts as applicable.
- Responds to Outpatient inquires, making referrals as appropriate.
- Performs balancing procedures monthly.
- Prepares reports.
