Position Summary
Under the direction of the Activity Director, the Activity Assistant will assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of activity programs on a daily basis to meet the individual residents' needs and interests.
Essential Functions
- Assist and/or lead assigned group or one-on-one activity programs.
- Assist residents to and from activity programs.
- Report any changes in Resident behavior, safety hazards or procedural difficulties to the Activity Director.
- Assist with monthly activity calendars and display boards.
- Assist with evaluation of each resident according to their background, activity interests, abilities, physical limitations, and needs for meaningful activity programs.
- Suggest new activities to Activity Director based on resident interests.
- Relieve receptionist over noon hour and take responsibility for the front desk phone and reception.
- Ability to work in close cooperation with the Activity Director, accept direction, and display initiative to complete activity related tasks and programs.
