Position Summary
Loads, unloads, sets up and transports furniture, office equipment, and related items within Green Valley and surrounding areas. Operates vehicles and mechanical equipment as required to facilitate loading, unloading, and transport of materials, as appropriate to the area of operation. Positively represents La Posada and Vensel Treasure Shoppe to all customers in the community.
Essential Functions
- Move furniture, office equipment and other materials to and from La Posada storage or production areas, private residences, other locations, loading docks, or delivery vehicles as it relates to Vensel Treasure Shoppe or La Tiendita by hand or using manual labor, hand trucks, dollies, or other equipment.
- Sort furniture, office equipment and other materials before loading and unloading.
- Attach identifying tags to furniture, office equipment and other materials or mark them with identifying information.
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
- Load or stack furniture, office equipment and other materials in designated locations or as instructed by supervisor.
- Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
- Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
- Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift cargo and guide loads.
- Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure everyone's safety and that inventory is protected.
- Keep clean and in good operating condition storage areas, trucks and transport equipment.
- Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use.
- Connect electrical equipment to power sources so that it can be tested before use.
- Adjust or replace equipment parts, such as rollers, belts, plugs, or caps, using hand tools.
