What are the responsibilities and job description for the Life Enrichment Lead Assistant position at La Posada?
The Lead Wellness Assistant is responsible for interaction with residents, presenting classes and instruction, coordinating events, and assisting with transportation as needed.
Must be available to work Weekends.
What will I do every day?
- Assist Art of Living Well Director to provide programs that meet the emotional, intellectual, physical, social, spiritual, and vocational needs of the residents and associates
- Create opportunities to exceed resident expectations and enhance resident satisfaction
- Support the creation of a monthly calendar of events encompassing The Art of Living Well and the 6 dimensions of Art of Living Well based on current resident’s needs, passions, interests, and abilities
- Coordinate programs related to the interests and needs of the current residents and the surrounding community at large
- Promote resident and staff attendance, participation, and engagement in all dimensions of the community Art of Living Well programs
- Collaborate with volunteers and community groups to implement various programs and events
- Learn resident preferences for opportunities to provide exemplary customer service, exceed resident expectations and enhance resident satisfaction
- Perform functional ability assessments and quality of life indexes for participants, as requested
- Assist in setting up/tearing down for events as needed
- Monitor residents’ general well-being and report any changes in the condition of a resident to supervisor immediately
- Assist with scheduling transportation and preventive vehicle maintenance as required
- Drive vehicles as necessary
- Ensure that all Art of Living Well areas, including storage areas and equipment are safe, clean and secure
- As well as perform other related duties as required.
What will I need to be successful in this role?
- Be a progressive and creative thinker
- Associate degree (preferred)
- Two to four years' experience with developing and implementing Art of Living Well Programs, preferably for senior
- Background in different dimensions of wellness is beneficial
- Experience leading exercise classes and assisting with exercise equipment preferred
Special Requirements/Certifications I may need?
- General accredited Fitness certification (ASFA Fitness Instructor, ACSM Personal Trainer etc).
- Valid driver’s license and proof of good driving record
- First Aid Certification
