What are the responsibilities and job description for the Breakfast Attendant position at La Quinta Inns & Suites NW at the Rim?
The purpose of this job is to achieve and maintain customer service and product quality standards for the delivery of complimentary breakfast. 1. Prior experience in hotel service preferred. 2. Prior cleaning experience preferred. 3. General knowledge of cleaning chemicals preferred. 4. GED or High School Diploma. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Work Objectives Prepare the breakfast area by cleaning the area, properly arranging the furniture, emptying the trash receptacles, making fresh coffee, and stocking the drink and food items, and other supplies (e.g. plastic ware, napkins) according to operations standards. During Complimentary Breakfast hours of operation:1. Set-up and breakdown continental breakfast items. 2. Greet and acknowledge guests as they arrive. 3. Bus and clean tables. 4. Straighten chairs and properly arrange the furniture. 5. Maintain the cleanliness of the breakfast area. 6. Restock drink and food items and other supplies (e.g., plastic ware, napkins) according to standards. 7. Make fresh coffee as needed. 8. Empty trash receptacles. 9. Thank guests as they depart. 10. Always update GM or AGM on supplies and inventory needed. At the close of the complimentary breakfast, bus and clean all tables, clean and mop the breakfast area, empty the trash receptacles, dispose of all drink and food items and supplies in accordance with operation standards and health codes. Store all used drinks, food items, and supplies in accordance with standards and health codes. Clean all equipment and properly store them according to standards. Receive supplies, date, and rotate stock. Complete and record inventory on inventory sheet and follow hotel operation procedures to ensure an order is placed for items that are needed. You may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the general manager or assistant general manager. RESTOCKING AND REORDERING: 1. Employee will be responsible for keeping proper inventory of food, condiments, breakfast items in kitchen area and for guests in kitchen bar. Employee must prepare an inventory list and update it daily for inspection by General Manager or Owner at any time. Employee must order items needed or advise proper personnel of items to be ordered. SAFETY AND SECURITY: 1. Perform duties in accordance with Safety and Security Policies and Procedures. 2. Perform duties in accordance with OSHA, HAZCOM, and Blood Borne Pathogens regulations. 3. Report lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures. 4. Be sure to wear appropriate gloves or accessories for handling food items.
