Teaching Assignments
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Teach a minimum of 12 credits each semester over a one-year appointment (appointment may be renewed for an additional year at the discretion of the university).
- Primary courses of instruction will include lower- and upper-level courses in Religious Studies and Philosophy.
- Courses are taught in person.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to assist students with academic, curricular, and professional issues.
- Follow established teaching procedures and protocols within the Academic Affairs Division.
- Be available to students outside of class for advising and mentorship.
- Participate in departmental meetings, events, and committees as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with other faculty in the department to develop and refine course materials and assessments.
- Evaluate student progress through coursework, papers, exams, and related assignments; provide appropriate feedback.
- PhD in Religious Studies, Philosophy or related field.
- Evidence of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
- Demonstrated commitment to engaging with students and contributing to the daily life of the University.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience with learning management systems such as Canvas.
