EHS Technician
LA Semiconductor is looking for a creative, highly motivated, and safety-conscious Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Technician to support the current EHS team with safety initiatives and environmental compliance. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the implementation of EH&S protocols and procedures.
- Conducting regular safety inspections of the workplace (labs, manufacturing areas, etc.).
- Reporting and tracking incidents or safety hazards.
- Assisting with EH&S programs (e.g., SCBA, Fall Protection, Ergonomics, Safety Committee, Confined Space, etc.)
- Assisting with EH&S Documentation, CBT, training updates.
- Helping to create safety training materials and assist with employee safety and environmental training.
- Supporting waste management programs (e.g., hazardous materials handling, disposal, recycling).
- Assisting in ensuring compliance with environmental laws, including air, water, and waste regulations.
- Monitoring and documenting environmental data (e.g., emissions, water use).
- Maintaining EH&S records and databases.
- Assisting with regulatory reporting, including OSHA logs, waste disposal reports, and environmental compliance documents.
- Assisting with preparing safety data sheets (SDS) and ensuring the safe use of chemicals.
- Assisting in identifying potential safety and environmental hazards in various processes.
- Participating in Health and Safety risk assessments, Environmental Aspects and Impacts assessments and recommending control measures to reduce workplace hazards.
- Participation in all ISO 14001/45001 related information, policies, and procedures.
- Conducts routine Environmental, Health, and Safety audits/inspections to include audits of ISO14001/45001.
- RCRA, SWPPP, Tier ll, TRI, SPCC, GHG, Air Quality, are a sample of Environmental regulations and reporting the EHS technician will be expected to assist in with this position.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or laboratory setting.
- Hands-on work with safety and/or environmental aspects is valuable.
- Experience with basic industrial safety, chemical handling, or warehouse operations can help demonstrate readiness for the role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and manage projects.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to motivate, train, and delegate responsibility.
- Ability to lead, build consensus, and work within a team environment.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, DEQ guidelines, etc.) is a plus.
- Willingness to learn on the job and undergo further training.
Education Requirements:
- Associate Degree in one of the following areas preferred-Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
- 2 years of Equivalent Experience in lieu of degree in one of the following, Health, Safety, or Environmental fields.
