Position Summary
The Biology Student Laboratory Teaching Assistant (TA2) assists the instructor with preparation / set-up, operation, and takedown / cleanup of laboratory classes. The TA2 provides instruction in the laboratory. The TA2 may be called upon to assist with grading of laboratory assignments / quizzes and other clerical work related to the laboratory class experience. TA2 applicants must have taken and passed the course they would TA for with a grade “B” or higher.
The course instructor is the direct supervisor, and the person who makes the final hire decision.
Number of openings depends on course enrollment numbers.
The TA2 must be able to work a laboratory section for the full time the class lab runs, plus allow time for set-up, resets, take-down, meetings with the instructor, grading and other operational activities related to the running of the lab.
- Must be a La Sierra University student currently enrolled in the Winter 2025 quarter
- Must be able to start work immediately upon hire
- Must have taken BIOL434 / L and passed with a grade of B or higher or been previous TA2 for this course
