The Human Resources Office is responsible for developing and implementing programs and services to meet the human resource needs, and also assist with the payroll needs of the University. The office student employee provides overall clerical support to the Human Resources Office staff and participates in a wide variety of HR projects and events.

Ability to focus on details and think creatively; strong clerical skills (filing and typing); computer skills (Microsoft Word, Banner); bilingual abilities are highly preferred; must be reliable, accurate, flexible, must be able to interact with and convey a positive attitude to visitors and the campus community in person or by phone; be able to work an established work schedule; reliably work set hours as assigned; maintain the confidentiality of departmental/employee/student information; ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner, both verbally and in writing; detail oriented with strong organizational skills and work well both independently and as a team player.
Physical/Mental Demands
Challenging, dynamic, and fast paced office environment that can be stressful at times due to the amount of people coming into the office and the amount of paperwork coming into the office. Physical labor is minimal.
Wage Range: $16.50 to $17.30 per hour
Duties & Responsibilities
- Front desk position that provides information to students, faculty, staff, and the general public regarding department services, policies, and procedures
- Extensive filing - uploading all documents onto ETRIEVE
- Perform basic reception duties including greeting visitors and customers
- Answer telephone, direct calls, and take messages
- Sort and distribute mail, email, and other correspondence
- Organize and maintain confidential files and records
- Run errands, schedule appointments and general office maintenance
- Complete special projects
- Assist in training of other student employees
- Complete miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor
