The marketing creative director is the lead visual creator for the Department of Marketing and Communications. They will be an important member of the team in conveying the university brand to its various audiences. They will create original content and/or modify existing content for a variety of purposes to meet the needs of the department and its clients. This includes, but is not limited to, enrollment services, advancement, the president’s office, student life, academic departments, advertising, the website, social media, and the university magazine. They will report to the director of marketing and communications and will work closely internally with all team members in the Department of Marketing and Communications, as well as other key stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Duties And Responsibilities
The manager will be assigned extended multiple projects that must be completed within a set timeframe. Must be a self-motivated, detailed-oriented person with exceptional organizational, verbal, written, interpersonal and planning skills with ability to meet deadlines. The manager must be able to work in a team environment with keen work ethic, initiative and ability to work through ambiguous situations.

Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) in Design from four-year college or university; and one to three years related professional experience in content generation; professional experience in design, marketing, and/or communications strongly preferred; professional experience in a higher education setting preferred.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, the manager must have the ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Teams, Google products (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms), Adobe suite, (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign). Canva, Figma, Monday (project management), and Slack. Strong social media skills are preferred. Certificate in Adobe.
Language Ability
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public (good customer relation skills). Ability to edit professionally and tactfully.
Math Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Good research skills, both for developing original stories and for finding and expanding on existing content.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Create marketing and advertising materials for internal and external audiences, such as brochures, postcards, emails, fundraising collateral, posters, billboards, etc.
- Create visual content for the university website.
- Create visual content for the university’s social media platforms.
- Create layout and design for the university’s annual print magazine.
- Design university merchandise and apparel.
- Coordinate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to plan, schedule, prioritize, supervise, and carry to completion projects that require visual or graphic solutions.
- Formulate and/or supervise the development and execution of the overall visual concepts of projects and how they communicate visually.
- Other additional duties as assigned.
