This is an important, new, and hybrid HR role as its responsibilities include that of the Safety function
which is a part of the HR team’s responsibility. This role is primarily responsible for driving a
Safety-minded culture while providing first touch HR support within the work shift as needed.

The HR/Safety Partner will play a critical role in maintaining a safe work environment through proactive
management—and improvement of—our Safety Program. Our intent in marrying Safety to HR in this
role is to ensure safe business practices and workplace culture fully align, creating not just an OSHA
and company policy compliant space, but a true Safety First mindset throughout the organization.
While the standard hours for this position will extend through our night shifts, the role will impact and
have responsibility for, inculcating Safety Best Practices throughout the Day Shift also through
partnership with Day Shift management. A generous spirit in which one assumes the best
and stays balanced in assessing the human situations that arise—will be very important for whoever is in this role.
Requirements
Safety
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Safety Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Must have minimum 3 years of experience in HR and safety roles, preferably in manufacturing or similar environments. Strong understanding of OSHA compliance and employment laws. Must have a good understanding of employee law. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Must have proven communication skills with the ability to work through conflict and to apply discretion to each employee interaction. Must have strong computer skills, with the ability to manage spreadsheets, interpret and analyze various reporting, prepare PowerPoint presentations and other documents for employee communication purposes. Must demonstrate the ability to apply critical thinking skills in identifying process and administrative improvements.

Requirements
Safety
- Act as a Safety Champion by leading initiatives that promote a “Safety First” mindset across all shifts.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections (e.g., eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, waste storage) to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns, ensuring thorough documentation and follow-up corrective actions.
- Manage and maintain the OSHA 300 log, ensuring accurate reporting of workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Partner with Operations to implement safety training programs and reinforce proper safety procedures.
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with supervisors and employees to identify safety improvement opportunities and implement best practices.
- Develop and lead emergency response plans, ensuring readiness in case of fire, chemical spills, or other safety-related incidents.
- Oversee the administration and follow-up of workplace injuries, including accommodations, return-to work programs, and workers’ compensation cases.
- Actively engage employees in safety initiatives by providing consistent communication, training, andreinforcement of safety protocols.
- Sincerely get joy out of providing great service to your clients: both the employee and management side—while maintaining at your core a balanced, fact-driven focus.
- Maintain as requested employee engagement initiatives, such as recognition programs and special events to support established HR practices.
- Act as an HR point of contact for employee and manager concerns, ensuring resolution in line with company policies.
- Knowing and being comfortable with when to raise a situation to the Plant HR Manager; always keeping him in the loop and informed of all situations to ensure consistency and alignment.
- Partner with management and supervisory team to address employee relations issues in alignment with established company values and practices.
- Assist in new employee onboarding, including communicating safety expectations and protocols. Ensure managers and employees are adhering to HR practices and procedures—and sharing with HR colleagues where and when those might be improved.

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- At time will be need to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and listen to perform the essential job duties.
- Work conditions vary, working time will vary based upon work/project needs, and flexibility is critical.
- Temperatures range from 40 to 90 F degrees.
- Exposure to potentially dangerous machinery and equipment are present in the plant.
- Potential electrical, mechanical, and chemical, hazards are also present. The noise level is high and constant. Floors are damp and slick. Must be able lift up to 15 lbs.
- Close visual acuity to view a computer terminal, analyze reports, manage data and detail.
