Accounting Clerk
Part-time / 16-24 hours week; flexible schedule / $20 hourly
On-site, 3601 La Grange Pkwy, Toano, VA

This position involves processing accounts payable invoices, billing and collecting accounts receivable, generating monthly state sales tax reports and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices daily and ensure proper account coding. This includes the review and tracking of purchase requisitions, coordinating with timing and amounts of AP payments with the Accounting Assistant II, and reconciling all chargebacks.
- Maintain a positive relationship with all vendor, reconcile vendor statements with Epicor vendor records, promptly respond to vendor inquiries and address routine correspondence with vendors.
- Run reports for sales & use tax reporting and file sales & use tax on monthly basis.
- Prepare and verify that all cash deposits and credit card activity from various sources are entered in the general ledger.
- Assist the Operations Team with semi-annual inventory counts.
- Maintains office supplies and replenish stock as needed.
- Compile data to provide credit references for new vendors and / or suppliers as well as for new customers.
- Request, file and maintain vendor W9 and other relevant documentation.
- Assists other departments with accounting as needed.
