Job Description:
The Physical Therapist Assistant will provide quality care to patients in a Skilled Nursing community. This includes carrying out an individualized program of physical therapy including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals. Responsibilities also include maintaining a positive working relationship with other health professionals and ancillary staff, evaluating functional needs and outcomes, and reviewing patients' functional needs and adjusting care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) approved physical therapy program, at least one year of experience as a physical therapy aide, current licensure from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations, knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of the population age groups that will be receiving services. Demonstrates ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to fulfill job requirements. Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems that may or may not include a variety of concrete variables. Functions independently with integrity, flexibility, and works well with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
