Welcome to the first step in applying for the LA28 Youth Council! Based on your expressed interest, we invite you to complete the application below so we can get to know you a bit better.
LA28 YOUTH COUNCIL
The organizing committee for the LA28 Games is assembling a Youth Council volunteer advisory group to help co-create our journey ahead. We’re looking to connect with young people like YOU across Los Angeles County who are actively engaged in their local community and interested in shaping the future of our city and the Games.
The LA28 Youth Council will inform our planning efforts for the LA28 Games and the human legacy we want to leave behind. Your insights will help drive the Games’ relevance and impact throughout the Los Angeles community and by engaging the next generation of Olympic and Paralympic fans. The Youth Council is designed to bring together a diverse group of young people from across the city as LA28 advisors and co-creators.
- Council members will serve JUNE 2022 - FEBRUARY 2023 (1 term)
- Nine monthly meetings (in-person and virtual)
- Opportunities for independent and remote breakout sessions throughout the year
- Council will advise LA28 on a range of topics and questions related to Los Angeles, the Games, and their relevant perspectives
- Participation on the LA28 Youth Council is voluntary
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THE YOUTH COUNCIL?
- Candidate must be between the ages of 18 and 25 by time of application
- Candidate must be a current Los Angeles County resident
- U.S. citizenship is not required
- Candidate must verify they are not a family member or related to an organization nominator, LA28 employees and USOPP employees
- Candidate may not be serving as paid influencers or currently being compensated by any brand for public facing engagements
- Candidate must submit all required materials by deadlines and be available for interviews on designated dates
- Candidate voluntarily gives consent to a review of their past social media content to assure alignment with LA28 values and standards
- Candidate must agree to LA28 legal requirements and application processes, including, without limitation, (i) third-party background check and vetting process and (ii)agreeing to be bound by the Youth Council Terms and Conditions for Applicants, LA28 Privacy Policy, LA28 Terms of Use, LA28 COVID-19 Prevention Program: Visitor Policy, and other applicable LA28 policies (as each may be updated from time to time).
- Please note that in the event that a candidate is ever considered for employment by LA28, or an affiliate of LA28, the candidate’s Youth Council application will not be made available to those involved in the hiring process, except to the extent permitted by law.
- Candidate must be able to commit to attendance and participation requirements of the LA28 Youth Council
