The Louisiana Academy of Performing Arts is seeking talented, motivated, and qualified music teachers with a passion for performing arts education. LAAPA offers flexible schedules, performance opportunities, and a stimulating work environment.
Now hiring for January 2025 teaching opportunities at our River Ridge campus in Harahan.
We are currently seeking an instructor of guitar/drums/beginning piano able to assume a roster of students Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
Compensation based on education and experience.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Music Degree or Equivalent Professional Experience. Rising juniors and seniors in a college performing arts program are encouraged to apply!
- Ability to conduct weekly private and group lessons and arrange lesson plans
- Outgoing personality
- Ability to make each lesson fun and enjoyable for students of all ages
- Ability to teach in two or more programs is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for students of all ages, including seniors.
- Foster a positive learning environment through effective classroom management and individualized tutoring.
- Assess student progress and adapt curriculum as needed to meet diverse learning styles.
- Encourage creativity and self-expression in students while providing constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to support student development and address any concerns.
