Job Responsibilities
The New Product Development Director will be responsible for developing and implementing product development strategies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. This role requires a strong understanding of product development methodologies and excellent leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams.
- Develop and implement product development strategies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Collaborate with the Product Marketing team to align project deliverables and ensure market relevance.
- Plan and direct teams of engineers, designers, and laboratory technicians to achieve project goals.
- Create detailed project plans, critical path schedules, and milestone targets based on available resources.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, conflicts, and other issues through effective contingency planning.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in product management, preferably in a similar industry.
Skills and Attributes
The ideal candidate must have strong practical experience in product development and project management, gained through managing new product launches from start to finish.
- Competent in project management methodologies and desktop software solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to intervene and resolve interpersonal conflicts in a team-based setting.
- Effective communicator, facilitator, and leader, with experience dealing with upper management.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Background in product development of manufactured, technical products.
- Ability to understand mechanical systems.
- PMP certified preferred.
