The Freight Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring our logistics and shipping operations run efficiently, supporting our mission to deliver high-quality chemical products to customers quickly and accurately. You will be responsible for managing freight shipments, coordinating with carriers, and optimizing logistics to minimize costs and transit times. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and manage freight quotes for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada, and bulk shipments.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound freight shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Schedule and track inbound procurement chemicals and supplies
  • Work closely with carriers, brokers, and internal teams to book shipments and resolve any logistics issues.
  • Track and monitor shipments, providing updates to internal teams as needed.
  • Ensure all freight documentation is accurate, including bills of lading and packing lists.
  • Analyze freight costs and identify opportunities for savings and efficiency improvements by balancing speed, cost, and reliability.
  • Maintain strong relationships with carriers and negotiate favorable rates.
  • Assist in resolving freight claims and discrepancies.
  • Keep proper records of all forms of transactions related to the team's logistics operations
  • Assist in receiving incoming freight and supplies
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications & Expertise:

Must-Have:

  • Experience in freight coordination, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot shipment delays or issues.
  • Proficiency in using shipping software, TMS, or ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with carriers and internal teams.
  • Experience with inventory management systems (Finale preferred) for tracking inbound shipments.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in chemical distribution or hazardous materials shipping.
  • Knowledge of freight regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with LTL, FTL, and international shipping processes.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.

Schedule & reporting details:

Full-time 40 hours per week with occasional overtime.

8-4:30 M-F
