What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at Lab Alley?

We buy chemicals in bulk and put them into smaller containers for our customers. This is a closely knit team who really enjoy working with each other. Although the work is fast-paced, safety and accuracy come before speed.
In this role, the QC Inspector will work closely with the entire production and shipping team ensuring labels are accurate and that we are working together to continuously improve the quality of our deliverables.
Full-time 40 hours per week with occasional overtime.
8-5 M-F

Essential Responsibilities
- Perform document review and approval of completed quality and production documents
- Inspect all incoming products/supplies and receive PO into the inventory management system
- Create, fix, update, and print labels for products
- Collect samples of products requested
- New chemical technician training (these are Lab Alley's production team members)
- Assist chemical technicians
- Perform routine inspections of the down packing process throughout the day
- Conduct routine audits/reviews/inspections
- Proactively communicate with the QA Manager and Production Manager regarding any quality issues
- Maintain safety standards with production staff
- Maintain and enforce quality standards
- Perform daily inspections on products being packaged for accuracy and cleanliness.
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
- Knowledge and prior experience in an ISO 9001 or similar environment
- Knowledge of quality systems
- Attention to details is a must
- Food/Beverage, Chemical, or other regulated environment experience is a plus!
- Proficient with Google Suite and strong technical aptitude
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner.
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
- Continuous sitting, standing, walking, using stairs, hearing, talking, bending, crouching, and working closely with others.
