Sales Director – Scientific Laboratory Distribution Company

Overview

Lab Pro is seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth and success. This position is designed for a sales leader who can act as a "player-coach" by leading a team, executing strategic initiatives, and expanding Lab Pro's reach into new markets and territories. Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership and Strategy

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the sales team to achieve and exceed sales objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate new markets and territories.
  • Act as a "player-coach," balancing individual contributions with team leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for growth by analyzing market trends and customer needs.

Business Development

  • Generate new business by identifying, qualifying, and pursuing sales opportunities.
  • Conduct outbound calling campaigns (minimum of 100 calls per week) to engage prospects and existing accounts.
  • Explore and expand Lab Pro’s reach into untapped industries and geographic areas.
  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships by leading negotiations, introducing new product lines, and identifying complementary additions to the existing portfolio.
  • Customer and Account Management

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with existing customers to grow the current customer base.
  • Strategically cross-sell and promote complementary product lines to maximize account potential.
  • Provide exceptional customer service aligned with Lab Pro's core values, ensuring an outstanding customer experience.
  • Team Collaboration and Process Management

  • Manage the CRM system to maintain an accurate pipeline and optimize consulting opportunities.
  • Lead internal teams on special projects, product launches, and sales initiatives.
  • Qualifications

  • Education : Bachelor degree (preferred); a degree in Business, Sales, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience : Minimum of 5 years in a sales leadership role or 10 years in a sales position, preferably in the lab supply industry.
  • Proficiency in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Proven ability to solve problems, think strategically, and execute plans effectively.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated success with sales techniques such as up-selling, cross-selling, and lead qualification.
